OLD NAMES
What's behind some old and sometimes forgotten pottery names of  Stoke on Trent

Our main task is to EDUCATE  visitors about the Pottery Industry. The original idea was that we would make a web site to show just how good some of the pottery was from around Stoke on Trent in the 20th Century. Many people have heard all of the names of pottery manufacturers of the area but few really understand the "potteries" in the way that locals do.

One of the people behind the idea for this site did work for the original A. T Finney & Sons for over 25 years. This site, however, is being developed to include many other local pottery manufacturers,  from the "Longton" and "Fenton" area's of Stoke on Trent but not completely limited to that area and including Moorcroft pottery from "Burslem".

We hope you enjoy this site as much as we do and if you have any pottery that you may want to display on this site just email me directly at tonym@tonymckenzie.com
