What's behind some old and sometimes forgotten pottery names of  Stoke on Trent

These two vases were purchased from Christie's in 1995 for £300.00 the pair. The Dragon Design was originally made with a dark background as well as this off white background in 1989. The white background was not nearly as popular as the dark background vase, but this for a collector is good news... The Design originated from an employee - there were a number of different designs coming from Moorcroft at this time from employees who had an eye for that sort of thing - most were not that successful. The bases are typical of the time and now had a date stamp in the form of specific marks applied to the soft clay and then fired. Current Value is probably £600.00 the pair.
